Nutri-Ice® was initially developed for those with a cancer diagnosis who were undergoing treatment and had a reduced appetite, but it’s suitable for anyone who needs to increase their calorie intake and maintain a healthy weight.

Yes. Nutri-Ice® is intended for those undergoing treatment but depending on the type of treatment please always check with a healthcare professional first. Nutri-Ice® was developed as an alternative to Ensure and Fortisip shakes, as the majority of patients we spoke to disliked the taste and texture of them.

Nutri-Ice® offers a great alternative to fortified shakes like Ensure and Fortisip. Unlike those products, Nutri-Ice® is made with just a handful of ingredients and doesn’t contain any artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or emulsifiers.

Our vitamins are encapsulated. Encapsulation is a process by which the vitamins and minerals are coated so they don’t flavour the product. They are digested at the optimum time in your stomach to give maximum benefit.

After taking out of the freezer Nutri Ice® needs time to soften for 20 minutes before enjoying as it doesn't contain any refined sugar which keeps it frozen for longer.

Nutri-Ice®, Nutri-Scoop®, Smile Heroes® and Nutri-Bean® are all completely gluten-free.

No, Nutri-Ice®, Nutri-Scoop® and Smile Heroes® are not dairy free as they're made with double cream and whole milk.

My Doctor’s Recipe was founded by Dr Jon Krell, a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medical Oncology at Imperial College London and a renowned Oncologist. Jon launched My Doctor’s Recipe alongside Alan Mackenzie, who had recently lost his wife to cancer. Jon’s medical expertise combined with Alan’s personal story led them to create their first product - Nutri-Ice®. 

Jon has over 20 years’ experience in clinical research within the cancer and oncology field, and has published numerous papers. He has treated thousands of patients over the years and has drawn on these encounters to create a product that will improve nutrition within healthcare. 

Nutri-Ice® is made in the UK with only natural ingredients. Unlike our competitor products (Ensure & Fortisip) we never use any artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or emulsifiers.

We have a specific children's range called Smile Heroes which includes child-friendly flavours (banana, chocolate, vanilla & strawberry). The packaging for this range was designed by children in hospitals alongside our charity partner Spread a Smile.

To operate more sustainably we send out orders once a week, on a Wednesday. Order by midday on Tuesday to receive your order on the Wednesday.

After ordering you'll receive a confirmation email from us. On the day of delivery (Wednesday) you'll receive a tracking email from our delivery partner, DX.

Our products are packed with dry ice which keeps them frozen for up to 36 hours once dispatched. Your order will arrive with you frozen and ready to pop straight in your freezer.
